South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the District Administration under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative for the project “Financial assistance of ₹49.20 Lakh for providing two buses to Government B.Sc. Nursing College, Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh.”

The MoU was signed in the presence of SECL Director (Human Resources) Shri Biranchi Das. The agreement was formally signed by Shri C.M. Verma, General Manager (CSR), SECL and Ms. Vartika Gauraha, Principal, Government Nursing College, Bilaspur.

The proposal was submitted by the District Collector, Bilaspur, to ensure safe and reliable transportation of nursing students for their clinical training at Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS).

The two new buses will directly benefit 275 nursing students, a majority of whom belong to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and other disadvantaged categories. The project falls under the CSR thematic area of “Promoting Education and Employment Enhancing Vocational Skills.”

This CSR intervention reflects SECL’s sustained commitment towards promoting education and skill development in its operational areas, in align ment with the larger vision of Coal India Limited.
