Coal Minister Kishan Reddy inspects eco-friendly first mile connectivity of ECL

Further, the registered office of Coal Gas India Limited (CGIL) - subsidiary  has been established within the Sonepur Bazari Area

Union Minister for Coal & Mines G. Kishan Reddy on his second day visit to CIL subsidiary ECL, chaired a review meeting and visited Sonepur Bazari mine. During the visit, he inspected the eco-friendly First Mile Connectivity (FMC) project and honored the best workers of Sonepur Bazari mine.

The Minister also visited the Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R) site at Sonepur village, where he distributed fruit baskets to the project-affected people.

Later, the Minister inaugurated the Mahuadanga R&R site and handed over appointment letters, in addition to distributing tricycles to persons with disabilities at the Workers’ Club.

The Minister was accompanied by Smt. Rupinder Brar, Additional Secretary, Govt. of India, Ministry of Coal, CIL Chairman P.M. Prasad; Director (Technical) Achyut Ghatak;  Satish Jha, CMD, ECL; and senior management of ECL during the visit.

Sonepur Bazari, the flagship opencast mine of ECL with high grade coal deposit, has been entrusted with a coal production target of 13 million tonnes for the current fiscal and is on track to achieve it on time.

Further, the registered office of Coal Gas India Limited (CGIL) – subsidiary  has been established within the Sonepur Bazari Area. CGIL’s upcoming Coal-to-Synthetic Natural Gas (SNG) project, which requires 1.9 million tonnes of coal annually, will receive its coal supply from Sonepur Bazari.
