NTPC KORBA

The Baseline Survey for the Girls Empowerment Mission (GEM) program 2024 was successfully conducted at NTPC Korba on 3 May 2024. Aimed at empowering the society, school girls from nearby villages of NTPC Korba, the programme attracted 40 girls.

Resource persons from M/s E-Solutions (nodal agency for the GEM programme at NTPC Korba), interacted with the girls and a sample test on academic subjects was conducted to assess the student’s strengths, which will help in designing the curriculum for the upcoming four-week-residential GEM workshop at NTPC Korba to be held from mid-May.

On the same day, NTPC Korba also successfully winded up the medical examination screening camp for the participating girls at NTPC Korba Hospital. In medical examination, the screening camp was divided into three days. On the first day i.e., 1 May 2024, 44 girls were examined, on the second day i.e., 2 May 2024, 36 girls were examined and on the third day i.e., 3 May 2024, 54 girls were examined- making a total of 134 beautiful girls.

Under the expert guidance of Dr Vinod Kolhatkar, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), NTPC Korba, a dedicated team of doctors conducted thorough medical check-ups for all participants. The camp’s success highlights NTPC Korba’s commitment to ensuring the holistic development and well-being of the girls in the region.

Furthermore, during the event, a series of other activities were undertaken, including uniform, tracksuit & shoe measurements, and capturing students’ photos for GEM ID cards.
