A three-month campaign, as a prelude to Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW) 2025, was launched by CIL Chairman P.M. Prasad at corporate office in Kolkata.
The campaign, which will continue till 17th November 2025, will focus on various aspects of preventive vigilance including the disposal of pending complaints and cases, capacity-building programmes, asset management and digital initiatives.
Shri Prasad speaking at the launch function, emphasized the importance of a transparent, accountable, and efficient system. He urged everyone to reduce pendency, and expedite the completion of inquiries.
Stressing the value of continuous learning, he advocated for the regular conduct of training programmes to strengthen vigilance and compliance across all levels.
Highlighting procurement as a critical function, Chairman stated that it is a collective responsibility to assess and monitor material procurement processes, ensuring integrity and efficiency.
In the context of today’s highly competitive environment, he underlined the need to control costs and emphasized that shared responsibility in adhering to rules and guidelines, along with a strong focus on quality and safety, is vital for sustainable growth.
In his address Chief Vigilance Officer Brajesh Kumar Tripathy, elaborated on the key focus areas that will drive the three- month campaign.
He highlighted the importance of the disposal of pending matters as a critical step toward enhancing efficiency and accountability. Emphasis was also laid on capacity building through continuous training and upskilling of personnel.
The CVO underscored the significance of asset management, ensuring transparency and accountability in the utilization and monitoring of organizational resources.
Recognizing the evolving technological landscape, he also spoke about the promotion of digital initiatives to streamline processes and enhance governance. Shri N.R. Srivastav, our GM Vigilance delivered the vote of thanks. CVOs of subsidiary companies also attended the program virtually.
VAW 2025 will be observed from 27th October to 2nd November this year, with the objective of spreading awareness about vigilance and reaffirming the collective commitment to integrity. The theme of VAW for this year is “Vigilance – Our Shared Responsibility”
