A Fireside Chat with P. M. Prasad, Chairman, Coal India Limited, was held today at the SECL Headquarters Auditorium, Bilaspur. The interactive session was moderated by Shri Biranchi Das, Director (Human Resources), SECL.

He emphasized the importance of maintaining three key traits for success — remaining focused on one’s target, ensuring proper planning, and always working with humility, whether in the mines or in the office.
Encouraging employees to maintain composure in the face of challenges, he said, “Do not take undue stress over small things. Perform your duties sincerely, and everything will eventually fall into place.”
Highlighting the human aspect of the coal industry, Shri Prasad underlined that “Our work demands that we build strong relationships—with villagers, workers, and local administrations—to ensure smooth operations and mutual trust.” He also reminded that “Your team is your biggest strength.”
Speaking on future trends, he said that Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) will be game-changers for the mining industry, significantly enhancing safety, productivity, and efficiency.
