BEML Limited and Dredging Corporation of India Limited (DCIL) have entered into a strategic collaboration through the signing of three Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) worth approximately ₹350 crore during India Maritime Week 2025 in Mumbai.
The MoUs were exchanged between Cmdr R.G.K. Rao (Retd.), Head of SBU – Aerospace & Maritime, BEML, and Capt S. Divakar, Managing Director & CEO, DCIL, in the presence of Shri Shantanu Roy, CMD, BEML Limited, and Dr. M Angamuthu, IAS, Chairman, DCIL.
The ceremony was part of the India Maritime Week’s marquee MoU session, graced by senior officials, industry leaders, and stakeholders from across the maritime sector.
This partnership covers key areas of collaboration, including:
- Supply of indigenous spares for DCIL dredgers.
- Design and construction of five inland cutter suction dredgers.
- Development and supply of cable dredgers, long-reach excavators, and customized dredging solutions to support reservoir de-siltation and inland waterway development.
Under this collaboration, BEML will lead the supply, maintenance, and lifecycle support for dredgers and related equipment, while DCIL will manage their deployment and operations across key national maritime and inland projects.
Together, this partnership represents a strong stride toward Aatmanirbhar Bharat, reinforcing India’s self-reliance in maritime infrastructure and sustainable port development.
