Dr. Hemant Sharad Pande, CMD, Western Coalfields Limited (WCL), was conferred with the prestigious “Digital Transformation Leader of the Year” Award at the 11th PSU IT Forum & Awards Ceremony organized by Governance Now in New Delhi on 29 May 2026.
The award was presented to Dr. Hemant Sharad Pande by Hon’ble Member of Lok Sabha, Shri Anurag Thakur. Dr. Pande was honoured for his visionary leadership and outstanding contribution in promoting digital transformation, good governance, transparency, and a technology-driven work culture in WCL.
On this occasion, WCL was also recognized with the “Award for Excellence” for its outstanding digital initiatives. WCL’s “Swasth Portal” emerged as the Best in the IT Implementation category, while the “DMS (Dispensary Management System)” stood ahead in the IT Innovation category. These recognitions reflect national-level appreciation for WCL’s effective use of information technology, expansion of digital healthcare services, and successful implementation of employee-centric innovations.
