On July 26, 2025, Achyut Ghatak, Director (Technical), Coal India Limited, visited the Kusmunda Area of SECL as part of the second day of his inspection tour.
He was accompanied by Shri N. Franklin, Director (Technical)(Ops & P&P), SECL, and Shri Rajasekhar Kinnera, Executive Director (Corporate Planning & Project Monitoring), CIL.
At the View Point, the delegation was welcomed by Shri S.T. Patil, General Manager, Kusmunda Area, who also presented a detailed briefing on mine planning and production strategies.

Through a PowerPoint presentation it was explained how the area plans to achieve monthly production targets across both departmental and contractual patches.
Shri Ghatak reviewed planning details and various operational aspects of the mine. The discussions focused on strengthening production efforts through efficient planning and resource management.
The team later visited key mine patches including Godavari Patch and Neelkanth Patch, where they reviewed field operations and shared practical suggestions to boost output and improve efficiency.
