The Coal Mines Officer’s Association of India is organizing a three-day conclave. The theme of the conclave is “Coal Mines Officers – Roles and Responsibilities in Emerging Challenges and Opportunities for the ‘Viksit Bharat Mission’.”
The three day conclave will be held from October 4th to 6th at the Convention Hall of Central Coalfields Limited in Ranchi. DN Singh, President of the Coal Mines Officer’s Association of India, stated that the conclave will be attended by Coal India Chairman PM Prasad and other senior officials. The CMOAI’s Annual General Meeting will also be held during the conclave.
The CMOAI President stated that the conclave will focus on comprehensively addressing the significant changes and challenges facing the coal sector.
The following points will be discussed:
- Diversification initiatives by the Ministry of Coal
- The imperative of a just transition from fossil fuels to green and clean energy
- Challenges posed by stringent environmental laws and forest clearances
- Ensuring India’s energy security as a cornerstone of the “‘Viksit Bharat Mission'”
- Exploring employment and livelihood opportunities in the rapidly growing AI-based coal sector
- Discussion on officer welfare, including a unified pension scheme and pay revisions, skill upgradation, medical facilities, health insurance, and resolution of pay anomalies and pay disputes

- Aligning coal mine officers from CIL and SCCL with national objectives
- Promoting a shared understanding of the emerging energy landscape
- Addressing critical welfare issues concerning coal industry officers
- Promoting synergy and knowledge exchange among officers to effectively contribute to the country’s energy security and sustainable development goals
