Coal India Installs 250 kwp Solar Power Project

Kolkata, 22 June : Coal India Limited, in an effort to enhance its use of electricity from renewables, installed a 250 kWp rooftop solar power project at its headquarters in Kolkata.

Pramod Agrawal, Chairman, CIL inaugurated the project. Vinay Ranjan, Director (Personnel & IR), Dr. B. Veera Reddy, Director (Technical), Mukesh Choudhary, Director (Marketing), and Brajesh Kumar Tripathy, CVO, CIL were also present during the inauguration ceremony.

This solar power project will generate around 3,60,000 kWh of electricity and help reduce 306 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions from the atmosphere every year.

Solar PV of capacity 160 kWp is already installed at Coal India Hq., which generates 81,000 units of electricity annually.
