Vijay Goel, Executive Director (Safety), visited NTPC Korba and reviewed key operational and safety installations as part of his commitment to strengthening the safety culture across NTPC units.
During his visit, Shri Goel inspected the Overhauling Safety Control Room at Unit-3, Boiler area of Unit-7, and the Safety Centre. At each location, he interacted with various contracting agencies and a large number of contract workers, taking note of their feedback and encouraging a proactive approach to safety practices at the grassroots level.
Following the field inspection, Shri Goel held a focused meeting with departmental heads where he emphasized the importance of adherence to safety protocols, timely hazard identification, and strengthening the overall safety ecosystem. He appreciated the efforts made by NTPC Korba in promoting safety awareness and urged teams to continue fostering a culture of vigilance and accountability.
Shri Rajeev Khanna, Executive Director, NTPC Korba, and Shri Bibhas Ghatak, Chief General Manager (O&M), accompanied Shri Goel throughout the visit. Together, they addressed a mass pep talk session at the Safety Centre, inspiring workers with messages of motivation and reinforcing the importance of individual responsibility in workplace safety.
In recognition of exemplary safety practices and dedication, motivational rewards were distributed to several workers during the event, further boosting morale and reinforcing the value of safe conduct at the workplace.
Shri Goel’s visit marked yet another step towards NTPC’s continued efforts to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all employees and stakeholders.
