Speaking in virtual mode in the inaugural session of the “16th Indian Coal Markets Conference—2023,” organized by M junction. Amrit Lal Meena, Secretary (Coal), emphasized that the Energy security of the Nation is a priority and coal production will be ramped up in the coming years to meet the growing demand.
Pramod Agarwal in his address stated that the requirement of non– coking coal will be met by indigenous sources by 2030 in the wake of increased production by CIL, government owned companies, and private entities. He also underscored the importance of green mining measures undertaken by Coal India.
In the plenary session Dr. B. Veera Reddy Director (Technical) CIL, spoke about CIL’s steps to meet the country’s coal demand and the pursuance of 1 BT by FY 2025-2026. He also highlighted the issues relating to green clearances and land acquisition.
