To cater to the increasing production and efficient material handling at Raw Material Handling Plant (RMHP) of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) a new BEML-make Chain Dozer BD-155 was commissioned and pressed into service in a programme organised at FM(M) Department on 26th July, 2024. Mr. R N Rajendran, CGM (Mechanical), Mr. Ravi Ranjan, CGM (Design & Shops), Mr. Abakash Mallik, GM In-Charge (FMM & Transport), Mr. S S Paul, GM In Charge, FM (M), Mr. V K Raul, GM, FM (M), Mr. Madho Banra, GM (RMHP) other Senior Officers of RMHP and FMM departments were present on the occasion.
It is noteworthy that the new BEML Chain Dozer will significantly help the Raw Material Handling Plant by efficiently dozing out raw materials brought in by wagons.
This equipment will streamline the unloading process, ensuring a smooth and swift transfer of materials to storage and processing areas. Its robust design and precision will enhance overall productivity and operational efficiency.
The new equipment replaced a 20-year old Chain Dozer deployed at RMHP. It is noteworthy that the Chain Dozer has been procured at a cost of Rs.3 crores. Mr. Pritam Kujur, DGM, FM (M) coordinated the programme.
