POWERGRID posts PAT of ₹16,824 crore, Total Income ₹42,698 crore for FY22

On consolidated basis, company posted PAT of ₹16,824 crore and total income of ₹42,698 crore for FY22 registering a YoY growth of 40% and 5% respectively.

Gurugram, 21 May 2022 :  Gurugram: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a ‘Maharatna’ Company under Ministry of Power, Government of India, has announced a PAT of ₹4,156 crore for Q4FY22 on a consolidated basis which is 18% increase over Q4FY21. The total income for Q4FY22 was ₹11,068 crore compared to ₹10,816 crore in the Q4 of the previous year.

On consolidated basis, company posted PAT of ₹16,824 crore and total income of ₹42,698 crore for FY22 registering a YoY growth of 40% and 5% respectively.

The Company has proposed a final dividend of 22.5% (₹2.25 per share on a face value of ₹10 each) in addition to first & second interim and special dividends aggregating to 125% (₹12.5 per share on a face value of ₹10 each) already paid for the FY22. The total dividend for the year thus amounts to ₹14.75 per share compared to ₹9.75 per share (adjusted for Bonus Share) for the previous year.

During the year, the Company completed the first asset monetization by a CPSE through the Infrastructure Investment Trust (InvIT) route. PGInvIT, sponsored by the Company, got listed on BSE & NSE on May 14, 2021. Total monetization done by the Company during FY22 is ₹8,370 crore.

The Company incurred a Capital Expenditure of ₹9,060 crore and capitalized assets worth ₹20,695 crore (excluding FERV) on consolidated basis during the financial year. The Company’s Gross Fixed Assets on a consolidated basis stood at ₹2,62,726 crore as on March 31, 2022 as against ₹2,41,498 crore as on March 31, 2021.

In FY22, the Company along with its subsidiaries added 43,500 MVA transformation capacity, 7 sub-stations and 5,450 ckm transmission lines. Indian portion of additional cross border links with neighbouring countries (Bhutan and Bangladesh) have been completed. To strengthen the grid, 7200 MW of Inter Regional (IR) capacity has been added during the year, IR capacity of the National Grid stands at 1,12,250 MW at the end of FY22.

The Company maintained average transmission system availability of 99.83% during FY22 compared to 99.76% in the corresponding period of the previous year.

As on 31.03.2022, the total transmission assets of POWERGRID and its subsidiaries stood at 1,72,437 ckm of transmission lines, 265 sub-stations and 4,74,457 MVA of transformation capacity.

The company acquired three TBCB subsidiaries viz. POWERGRID Aligarh Sikar Transmission Limited, POWERGRID Bhadla Transmission Limited, POWERGRID Sikar Transmission Limited. The company also published its Sustainability Report for the year 2019-202.
