Rourkela Steel Plant : Contract workers of Blast Furnace -5, Sintering Plant I and III who have successfully completed RPL training were certified with industry relevant skill certification. Notably, the RPL Certificate is issued by Indian Iron and Steel Sector Skill Council.
Biswaranjan Palai, CGM (Iron), Tapas Ranjan Mohanty, GM In-Charge (SP-1), and Subhash Patodia, GM In-Charge (SP-III) handed over the certificates to 35 contract labours at BF-5 Conference Hall on 13th February 2024. Present on the occasion were H Pati, GM (HRD), and other Officers and Employees of HRD, Blast Furnace -5, SP-I and SP-III.
At the outset Binita Tirkey, Manager (HRD) welcomed the gathering, Alok Behera, Junior Officer proposed a formal vote of thanks. Aditya Routray, Sr. Mgr. (Blast Furnace) coordinated the event.
It is worth mentioning here that, all these contract workers were trained in domain skills as well as soft skills. During the course they were provided with entrepreneurship tips. After assessment they have all been certified.
The main objective of the certification is to align the competencies of the pre-existing workforce of the country to the standardized National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF).
