BEML Ltd today commenced the assembly of its Light Armoured Multipurpose Vehicle (LAMV) at the Kolar Gold Fields facility.
The occasion was graced by CMD Shri Shantanu Roy, along with the Functional Directors and senior leadership team.
This achievement stands as a testament to the concerted efforts of BEML’s FPIIC and SBU Armoured Vehicle teams, who have successfully realised a 100% indigenous design, development, and manufacturing of all sub-systems—advancing the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
The indigenously developed LAMV will now undergo extensive evaluation by the Indian Army across diverse and challenging terrains, including high-altitude regions of Eastern Ladakh.
Upon induction, it will significantly augment the operational strength of the Army’s Recce & Support Battalions.
