Director (Technical), Project & Planning, SECL, Shri Ramesh Chandra Mohapatra, visited Kusmunda Mega Project on 22 June 2026 and reviewed various operational activities being undertaken at the mine.
During the visit, he inspected coal production, dispatch and overburden removal (OBR) operations and assessed the progress of mining activities across different patches. He also reviewed production and productivity parameters and discussed measures for achieving operational targets efficiently and safely.
Shri Mohapatra took stock of the monsoon preparedness measures implemented at the project, including drainage management, pumping arrangements, slope stability monitoring and other preventive measures aimed at ensuring uninterrupted mining operations during the rainy season.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards of safety, operational efficiency and environmental compliance while sustaining production momentum. Senior officials of Kusmunda Area accompanied him during the inspection and briefed him on various ongoing initiatives and future action plans.
