A Statutory Training Programme on “Electrical Safety & Power Systems” was conducted at Indian Institute of Coal Management (IICM), Ranchi from 19–29 January 2026 for Electrical Engineers from Coal India subsidiaries.
The programme was attended by 18 participants from MCL, SECL, ECL, NCL and WCL.
Sessions covered power transmission, substations, earthing and neutral systems, electrical safety, emergency management, mine electrical machinery (UG), explosion-proof equipment, power cables, electrical machines, legal provisions, and case studies on electrical accidents. Faculty included officials from DGMS and senior professionals from Coal India.
As part of the field exposure, an industrial visit to Patratu Super Thermal Power Station was organised, along with a visit to the Meditron plant at Ranchi, providing practical insight into power generation and industrial electrical systems.
