Korba, August 23. Public sector undertaking National Thermal Power Corporation, Korba Company is proving to be weak in the field of social responsibility. In 2023-24, the company has spent only Rs 6.25 crore in CSR.

NTPC, Korba has a power generation capacity of 2600 MW. A new unit of 800 MW capacity is proposed. For the last few years, the company’s cooperation in the development of Korba is not visible. The company’s contribution in other infrastructure works including basic works like road, water, electricity is also almost zero.
NTPC, Korba management has spent Rs 6 crore 24 lakh in CSR head in the financial year 2023-24. In this, Rs 4 crore 31 lakh is said to be spent in the field of environmental sustainability. This amount has been spent by the management itself, but its details have not been given.
The company has spent Rs 88 lakh in health care item. It has been reported that 53 lakh rupees have been spent in the field of education. Apart from this, 23 lakh rupees have been spent on rural development projects, 17 lakh rupees on sports and 12 lakh rupees on art and culture.
None of these works is related to basic facilities and resources. The management of NTPC, Korba is spending the CSR amount according to its own wishes.

The management does not seem interested in concrete works. Meanwhile, the district administration is also not giving any proposal to NTPC for basic works.
