Domestic equity markets continued to move lower in intraday trading as it closed with losses for the fourth consecutive days in spite of early gains in the morning.
The Sensex at Bombay Stock Exchange closed below 54,100 points while the Nifty at National Stock Exchange was settled below 16,200 level.
The Sensex tumbled 276 points, or 0.51 per cent to finish at 54,088 while the Nifty fell 73 points, or 0.45 per cent, to end at 16,167.
