At the stock markets, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange shot up 1,043 points, or 1.9 per cent, to trade at 55,927, in the afternoon trade, a short while ago. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange jumped 303 points, or 1.9 per cent, to 16,656.
