Kolkata, 15th Dec. : B. Sairam, takes over as Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Coal India Limited. A graduate in Mining Engineering from NIT Raipur, with a PGDM in Energy Management, Shri Sairam brings rich experience, strategic insight and a strong commitment to sustainability.
Prior to this assignment Shri Sairam, served as CMD of our subsidiary, Northern Coalfields Limited where he played a pivotal role in steering the company towards achieving its MoU targets with Coal India.
His leadership ensured achievement of production & dispatch targets, optimum utilisation of resources, effective project planning, implementation, adherence to high safety standards, environmental stewardship, strong focus on business sustainability and stakeholder interests.
Shri Sairam has earlier served as Director (Technical), of our subsidiary Central Coalfields Limited, and has been instrumental in major community development initiatives.
During his tenure as Executive Director at Coal India, he aligned the organisation’s sustainability roadmap with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, while driving key functions such as Employee Welfare and Legal.
