Mumbai : Tata Projects Limited, one of India’s trusted Technology led Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) companies, today announced the appointment of Mr. Sukumar Hebbar as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Mr. Hebbar succeeds Mr. Vinayak Pai, who has led the company since 2022.
His appointment will further strengthen Tata Projects’ leadership bench as the company scales its presence across urban infrastructure, data centres and industrial EPC segments. Mr. Hebbar brings over three and a half decades of infrastructure and construction leadership from L&T, where he most recently served as Senior Vice President and IC Head of the Transportation Infrastructure business, overseeing the Roads, Bridges & Formation and Railways portfolios. His industry experience includes building the Health Business unit into a profitable vertical and securing data centre orders. He successfully delivered iconic projects such as the Ram Mandir, Navi Mumbai International Airport, and Kartavya Bhawan.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr. Sukumar Hebbar said, “Tata Projects has built a formidable reputation as India’s technology led infrastructure builder. My priority is the execution of complex infrastructure projects while expanding our capabilities in data centres and sustainable energy — areas where I see significant headroom for Tata Projects to lead.”
He holds a degree in Architecture from Mysore University and is an alumnus of INSEAD’s Advanced Management Programme in Organisational Leadership. He began his career in 1990 as a Graduate Engineer Trainee and went on to build & lead some of the most consequential business units.
