Raipur | IndustrialPunch : NMDC Limited is advancing the commissioning process of its 2.0 MTPA Pellet Plant at Nagarnar, with focus on trial operations, system integration and pre-commissioning activities across the entire production chain.
Shri Amitava Mukherjee, CMD, NMDC, along with the Functional Directors, reviewed the progress and trial operations at the Pellet Plant. The review covered critical facilities including slurry receiving tanks, the induration machine, burner firing system, additive grinding and the Central Control Room.
Focus on System Integration
A comprehensive review was also conducted with package contractors and the ground team. Discussions focused on system interfaces and the pre-commissioning action plan covering the complete integrated system—from the Iron Ore Beneficiation Plant (IOPP) at Bacheli, through the Slurry Pipeline, to the Pellet Plant at Nagarnar.
The coordinated approach is aimed at ensuring that individual systems are properly integrated before the plant moves into full-scale commissioning and operations.
2.0 MTPA Pellet Plant to Strengthen NMDC’s Value Chain
The commissioning of the 2.0 MTPA Pellet Plant, together with the 2.0 MTPA Iron Ore Beneficiation Plant and Slurry Pipeline, is expected to strengthen NMDC’s integrated iron ore value chain.
The integrated infrastructure will enable greater value addition to iron ore and support the company’s efforts to contribute to India’s growing iron and steel sector.
From Iron Ore to Value-Added Products
The Nagarnar Pellet Plant represents an important link in NMDC’s integrated value chain. The project connects beneficiation, slurry transportation and pelletisation, creating an integrated system designed to enhance the utilisation and value of iron ore resources.
With trial operations and pre-commissioning activities underway, attention is now focused on completing system interfaces and ensuring operational readiness across the entire chain.
