Balconagar : Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO), a Vedanta Aluminium Metal Limited company, has launched the ‘Vardaan’ Apartments as part of its continued focus on employee welfare and township development. At the inauguration, BALCO Chief Executive Officer and Whole-Time Director Rajesh Kumar Singh, along with senior officials, handed over keys to young employees for their new homes.
Designed specifically around the residential needs of young employees, the G+9 Vardaan Apartments comprise 172 furnished homes, each developed on a one-BHK studio apartment concept. The name ‘Vardaan’ symbolises auspiciousness and prosperity, reflecting BALCO’s vision of creating a comfortable and modern residential environment for its workforce.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajesh Kumar Singh said, “Our employees play an important role in BALCO’s progress, and their well-being remains an integral part of our growth journey. Vardaan Apartments is a step in this direction, providing our young employees with convenient and better housing while strengthening our efforts to create a better lifestyle and pleasant residential environment in Balconagar.”
Modern Amenities for Young Employees
Each apartment is equipped with essential facilities including a modular kitchen, television, furnished wardrobe, sofa-cum-bed, refrigerator and washing machine. The residential complex also features three lifts, modern waste collection and segregation systems, a secure environment and nearly 35,000 sq. ft. of green and recreational space.
The complex also includes a cafeteria-cum-dining space and banquet hall, providing employees with convenient venues for social, cultural and community gatherings.
Focus on Sustainability
Sustainability has been incorporated into the design of Vardaan Apartments. The complex has a 50-kW solar power generation system, supporting BALCO and Vedanta’s sustainability objectives.
For water conservation, the premises feature an 80-KLD sewage treatment plant, equivalent to a capacity of around 80,000 litres per day, along with three rainwater harvesting structures. These facilities are aimed at promoting efficient water utilisation and conservation.
