The Diploma Engineers Association, Bhilai, celebrated Engineers’ Day with great enthusiasm and dignity. The program commenced with the floral tribute to the portrait of Bharat Ratna and legendary engineer Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. This was followed by the Safety Pledge taken by all present.
The event was presided over by Association President Rajesh Sharma, who also delivered the welcome address. He emphasized the need for essential steps to be taken for the career growth of diploma engineers.
General Secretary Mohammad Rafi presented the annual report of the association, highlighting its activities and achievements. He underlined the significant role of diploma engineers in ensuring safety and productivity in the plant, while also stressing the necessity of creating more growth opportunities and responsibilities for them within the company.
The program was conducted by Organization Secretary Ajay Tamuria, whose engaging style made the event even more attractive.
The Chief Guest of the event was ED (Works) Rakesh Kumar, while the Guests of Honour included CGM I/c M&U B.K. Behera, CGM RSM-RTS Dastidar, CGM I/c SPs Anup Kumar Dutta, and SEFI President Narendra Banchhor. Also present on the occasion were Officers Association General Secretaries Mr. Parvinder Singh and Mr. Tushar Singh.
In his address, Chief Guest ED (Works) Rakesh Kumar mainly focused on employee safety at Bhilai Steel Plant, sharing his inspiring journey from Bokaro Steel Plant to becoming CGM (Coke Ovens).
He motivated non-executive employees toward career growth and discussed in detail important workplace issues such as better infrastructure, roads, sanitation, restrooms, and canteen facilities in BSP.
CGM I/c M&U Mr. B.K. Behera, CGM RSM-RTS Mr. Dastidar, and CGM I/c SPs Mr. Anup Kumar Dutta also delivered their addresses, acknowledging the crucial contribution of diploma engineers to plant safety and productivity.
SEFI President Narendra Banchhor, in his address, assured that he would take up the matter of creating better career growth opportunities for diploma engineers with the higher management.
Awardees Felicitated with Engineering & Safety Excellence Awards
On this occasion, several individuals and teams were felicitated for their outstanding contributions. Among them were:
- One-Day Chairman Award winners: Mr. Jitendra Ramteke and Mr. Ajay Tamuria
- Top three teams of Safety Circle and Quality Circle Awards
- Officers and employees from various shops who performed exceptionally well in their respective areas
The event witnessed the presence of a large number of diploma engineers. Senior Vice President Pawan Sahu, Vice Presidents Ushakar Choudhary and Pramod Puri, Treasurer Ramesh Kumar, along with members and office bearers including Saurabh Suman, K. Ganesh, Chetan Khopragade, Vishwamurti Tiwari, Tarkeshwar, Kiran, and many others actively participated.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Working President Mr. Ghanshyam Sahu. The event once again reaffirmed that diploma engineers are the backbone of the organization and that their active participation can take the safety and production of the plant to greater heights.
