PM Modi inaugurates new Circuit House near Somnath Temple, appeals people to adopt ‘Vocal for Local’ in tourism sector

Prime Minister Modi said that tourism is contributing to the economy of many countries in the world in a big way.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the new Circuit House near Somnath Temple in Gujarat through video conferencing today. Speaking on this occasion, Prime Minister Modi said that we are working relentlessly to realize the potential of tourism in our country. He said that the development of tourist centres is not just a part of the government schemes, but also a campaign of public participation. He said that the development of our cultural heritage is a great example of this.

Prime Minister Modi said that tourism is contributing to the economy of many countries in the world in a big way. He said that India also has endless possibilities like this in every state and every region. We are taking this issue holistically and developing and launching many religious, cultural and heritage tourist circuits in a big way.

Mr. Modi also appealed to the people to adopt Vocal for Local- in the tourism sector also and consider visiting domestic tourist destinations before planning for any foreign tourist destination. Prime Minister also emphasized Swachcha Bharat Abhiyaan, convenience of the people, and innovative and modern thinking to boost the domestic tourism in the country.

Prime Minister Modi said that our government has built the APJ Abdul Kalam memorial in Rameshwaram and developed the historical places associated with Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and Krantiveer Shyamji Krishna Varma. He said that Adivasi museums are also being built across the country to throw light on the glorious history of our tribal society.

Mr. Modi said that we know the circumstances under which the Somnath temple was destroyed and again rebuilt by the efforts of Sardar Patel. These historical incidents have a big message for us. He said that construction of the newly built Circuit House near the Somnath Temple will provide more facilities to the lakhs of tourists every year. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Gujarat BJP President C.R. Patil, and other dignitaries remained present at a function held at Somnath.
