Regional Executive Director Conducts Comprehensive Operational Review and Site Visits at NTPC Korba

NTPC Korba had the privilege of hosting Shri E. Satya Phani Kumar, Regional Executive Director (Western Region-II), during his two-day visit.

Shri Phani Kumar began his tour with a detailed visit to critical operational units, including:

  • Safety Centre – where he reviewed training modules, safety protocols, and NTPC’s proactive approach toward industrial safety.
  • Unit Control Rooms 3 & 4 – for an overview of plant performance, real-time monitoring systems, and operational excellence.
  •  FGD (Flue Gas Desulphurization) Project Site – where he inspected progress and reiterated NTPC’s commitment to environmental compliance and emissions reduction.

In addition to the site visits, Shri Phani Kumar chaired multiple key meetings:

  • Station Review Meeting – A comprehensive review of station performance, safety metrics, and future readiness. He appreciated the team’s efforts while urging further focus on innovation and efficiency.

Environmental Stewardship and Sustainability Review 

On the second day, Shri Phani Kumar visited NTPC’s ash dyke reclamation projects, showcasing the company’s sustainability initiatives:

  • Reclaimed Charpara Ash Dyke – where he witnessed the successful transformation of ash disposal land into green zones.
  • Tree Plantation at Charpara – Marking NTPC’s commitment to ecological restoration, he planted a sapling on-site.
  • Visit to Dhanras Ash Dyke – A review of ash utilization and safety practices at the operational dyke.
