Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), a unit of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), concluded the second month of the current fiscal with a strong performance across several units, registering multiple best ever monthly and Apr–May records.

In the month of May, Sinter Plant-3 and the combined output from all three sinter plants achieved their highest-ever monthly production, while the New Plate Mill and the HR Sheet Shearing Line of HSM- 2 posted their best May figures since commissioning.

For the Apr–May period, Sinter Plant 1 and 3 and total sinter production delivered record outputs, and the New Plate Mill’s Plate production along with HR sheet output from the HSM shearing line recorded their highest Apr–May tallies to date.

Comparative figures show total sinter production for the period rose to 12,32,994 tonnes, up from 11,98,655 tonnes a year ago with an increase of nearly 3%.
