Nagpur: A review meeting to review the preparedness for the effective implementation of Special Campaign 6.0 and ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ 2026 was held under the chairmanship of Director (Personnel)/(Finance), WCL, Shri Bikram Ghosh
The meeting held on 5 September, 2026, was attended by senior executives from WCL Headquarters, including General Manager (Civil-Welfare), General Manager (MM-Stores), General Manager (Systems) and Chief Medical Superintendent (WCL). Area General Managers, Staff Officers (Civil, Systems and MM), and Nodal Officers (Welfare and CSR) from all Areas also participated in the meeting through video conferencing.
The meeting held detailed discussions on the key focus areas of the campaign, including e-waste management, disposal of pendencies, record management, optimal utilisation of space, digitalisation, and visible cleanliness outcomes at offices and workplaces. Special emphasis was laid on the ‘Waste to Wealth’ initiative of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) and the e-waste management theme prescribed by the Ministry of Coal.
Building on the successful implementation of Special Campaign 5.0, WCL has set ambitious targets for Special Campaign 6.0. During Special Campaign 5.0, WCL had successfully achieved all its cleanliness and workplace improvement targets across 277 sites at its establishments and operational areas.
Under Special Campaign 6.0, WCL has set a target to undertake cleanliness drives at 300 sites, covering an area of approximately 6.50 lakh square feet. The company has also set a target for disposal of 539.65 metric tonnes of scrap, with an estimated revenue generation of approximately ₹2.27 crore.
In the area of record management, WCL has set targets for the review of 500 physical files and 7,500 e-files, along with the weeding out/closure of 500 physical files and 7,500 e-files. These measures will help make office processes more systematic, efficient and digital.
Special Campaign 6.0 will place particular emphasis on e-waste management, modern cleanliness practices, optimal utilisation of space, digitalisation, environment-friendly practices, ‘Waste to Wealth’ and inclusivity.
The Preparatory Phase of Special Campaign 6.0 will be conducted from 15 to 30 September 2026, followed by the Implementation Phase from 2 to 31 October 2026. The campaign will be implemented effectively across WCL Headquarters, all Areas, mines and other establishments with the active participation of employees and stakeholders.
