NTPC has signed MOUs for biodiversity projects, including the restoration of the Old Herbarium Building and digitisation of herbarium sheets, at Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose Indian Botanic Gardens, Kolkata.
Shri T K Bandyopadhyay, ED (SEA) signed the two agreements at MoEF&CC on 1 August, in the presence of Smt Nameeta Prasad, Joint Secretary, MoEF&CC.
NTPC’s funding for these Botanic Gardens projects aims to preserve herbarium data and the historical building, thereby conserving biodiversity and Indian heritage.
