New Delhi, 6 July :  Arindam Sinha, Head of Project NTPC Kahalgaon along with Vivekanand Das, In-Charge Sub-Divisional Hospital Kahalgaon and Santosh Kumar, DCLR Kahalgaon launched the Mobile Medical Unit with Maternal Child Healthcare Service for Bihar and Jharkhand State under CSR for providing better health care facilities to the people in peripheral villages on 5th july.

The medical units were flagged off with 2 doctors (a female and a male doctor), a pharmacist, two paramedical staff to ensure last-mile medical facilities at the doorstep, free-of-cost access to medical consultation and medicines in Bihar and Jharkhand areas.

The 4-year long term sustainable project would be implemented through M/s Kria Healthcare Pvt Ltd for better medical care in these remote areas and will improve the U5MR, IMR, NNMR and MMR indicators.

Along with a general check, 360 days of antenatal and postnatal care will also be provided to expectant mothers and mothers with newborns.

The Mobile Medical Unit will operate 24 days a month and will cover up to 20 villages from both Bihar and Jharkhand States.
