NTPC Korba marked a significant milestone in its digital transformation journey with the inauguration of the Substation Automation System (SAS) for its 400kV switchyard.
The system was formally inaugurated by Shri Rajeev Khanna, Executive Director (ED), NTPC Korba, in the presence of senior officials and employees.
The newly commissioned KIOSK-based SAS is a state-of-the-art solution aimed at enhancing the reliability, efficiency, and real-time monitoring of switchyard operations.
As part of the first phase, Generation Unit #3 bay has been successfully migrated to this automated platform, paving the way for the subsequent migration of other bays in the switchyard.
Speaking at the inauguration, Shri Rajeev Khanna emphasized the importance of adopting advanced digital technologies to strengthen operational excellence and ensure seamless power supply. He also appreciated the team’s efforts in implementing this critical project successfully.
The deployment of SAS is a significant step forward in NTPC Korba’s vision of integrating smart technology for efficient power management.
This initiative is expected to improve operational safety, reduce downtime, and enable faster decision-making through real-time data visualization and control.
