SAIL supplied 35400 metric tonnes of steel for Bogibeel Bridge

The 4.94 km long bridge is also India's first bridge to have fully welded steel-concrete support beams that can withstand high intensity earthquakes.

New Delhi, 15 May : Asia’s second-largest and India’s longest rail-cum-road bridge, Bogibeel Bridge connects the south bank of the Brahmaputra river in Assam’s Dibrugarh to Silapathar in Dhemaji bordering Arunachal Pradesh.

The 4.94 km long bridge is also India’s first bridge to have fully welded steel-concrete support beams that can withstand high intensity earthquakes.

SAIL feels pride to have supplied 50% of total steel that is 35400 metric tonnes of steel including TMT Rebars, Plates and Structurals for Bogibeel Bridge and will continue to contribute in making a steel strong Atmanirbhar Bharat.
