Balconagar, 16th August 2025: Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO), India’s iconic aluminium producer and a unit of Vedanta Aluminium, celebrated the 79th Independence Day, reaffirming its commitment to the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’. Employees and business partners participated in the event, paying tribute to freedom fighters and their contributions to nation-building.
Mr. Rajesh Kumar, CEO and Director, BALCO, unfurled the national flag, followed by the national anthem. In his address, he acknowledged the efforts of employees in advancing the organisation’s contribution to a developed India and encouraged them to continue their focus on operational excellence.
Highlighting BALCO’s role in India’s growth, Mr. Rajesh Kumar said, “For nearly six decades, BALCO has been contributing to the country’s development. The company has generated business opportunities worth thousands of crores of rupees in the state. As we work towards Atmanirbhar Bharat with a focus on operational excellence, we have ensured adherence to ‘zero harm, zero waste, zero emissions’ across our operations. By strengthening the aluminium industry through innovation, community development, and environmental responsibility, we are committed to supporting the vision of a self-reliant and prosperous nation.”
As part of the community initiatives on the occasion, Mr. Rajesh Kumar along with senior officials visited BALCO Hospital. The visit included distribution of fruits to patients, interaction with them regarding their health, and extending wishes for their recovery. Mr. Kumar also conveyed appreciation to the doctors and medical staff for their dedicated service in providing accessible healthcare to the community.
The Independence Day celebrations reflected BALCO’s commitment to sustainable growth, responsible operations, and its continued role in the nation’s progress towards a ‘Viksit Bharat’.
